The China Cultural Heritage Exchange Center participated in the 10th International (Shanghai) Forum on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage

On August 12, initiated by the Shanghai Museum of Art and co-hosted by Shanghai Arts and Crafts Vocational College and Shanghai Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, the 10th International (Shanghai) Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Forum was held online. Tan Ping, Director of the China Cultural Heritage Exchange Center, was invited to attend the forum and delivered a report entitled "Digital New Technology Empowers the Activation and Utilization of Intangible Cultural Heritage". Tan Ping said that intangible cultural heritage is the common wealth of human society, and digital technology has given a new path for the creative transformation and innovative development of intangible cultural heritage, creating a new ecological environment for the display, inheritance and activation and utilization of intangible cultural heritage. First, digital technology opens up new forms of intangible cultural heritage protection; Second, the digital age creates new opportunities for intangible genetic inheritance; Third, digital development has built a new platform for the regeneration of intangible cultural heritage value. He stressed that digital technology has become a key means to help intangible cultural heritage integrate into contemporary life, and it is of great significance to continue the historical context, strengthen cultural self-confidence, unite the national spirit, and build a socialist cultural power through policy guidance, industry norms and multi-party coordination, effectively protect, inherit and make good use of the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and ensure that the results of innovation benefit the people.With the theme of "Different Ways – Intangible Cultural Heritage Safeguarding and Contemporary Life Patterns", the forum invited representatives from China, Japan, Egypt, Iran, Argentina, Hungary, Indonesia, Mexico, Slovakia and other countries, including officials from cultural and tourism departments of various countries, heads of intangible cultural heritage protection institutions, research institutions, industry associations, scholars in the field of intangible cultural heritage research from relevant universities and academic institutions, to share and exchange the experience of strengthening the protection of intangible cultural heritage in various countries around the world online, and jointly discuss the innovative development of intangible cultural heritage protection. It aims to increase the dissemination and popularization of intangible cultural heritage and effectively improve the level of protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage.
